Hello,
Teachers and Guys who want to study in Cliff English and who have studied with me.
I am the one who took H-quarter B class first and moved to A class in the middle of the course. I am trying to write my epilogue for Cliff English Institute in English. Please understand my broken English. ^^ Because it is a part of my effort to make English one of my habit. I truly like to study in 벼랑 and I hope that everyone who choose here to study English get same feeling with me. Briefly, I am going to introduce myself. I was working in the company and before choosing to study here, I quit my job.
( FYI, Actually It's not because of Cliff English but for my personal goal to go abroad and study more in overseas Ph.D program. ^^; )
( Self Introduction )
Maybe some of you have known why it is hard to study overseas. many people gave up and returned to home country. there are many reasons such as financial or family problems. But mostly, they are coming back because of their language and cultural difference. For me, If I get high score in TOEFL and GRE, I can get a admission from the school. But that's not enough for me. I have to talk and communicate with foreigners. As I am a hard worker, I've tried many things for improving my English. I went to exchange when I was in a University. and I've taken a lot of courses in a variety of English Institute. But my English is not sufficient, Even though I could get high score in English tests, I cannot speak well with foreigners ( English-native )
( Why Cliff? )
There are several intensive subjects in Cliff English.
First of all, EBD ( English Body Diagram )
It is very powerful tool to understand the structure of English. If you already know the grammar well, you cannot understand long sentences which you can find in English reading materials such as the Economist. I got a better understand in "to 부정사", "동명사" and became more flexible and natural in using them. English is totally different from Korean, so you should analyze it from crown to toe.
Secondly, WORDS ( by image )
In Cliff English, They provide word dictionary with a lot of images. IT is really helpful for me. I DO NOT like memorizing English words but became the person who love to play with them. words is the most important in learning language and you should focus on it but studying in a ineffective way helps nothing with you. you can learn how to study words in interesting way.
Third, South park animation ( listening & speaking )
I became a big fan of South park. It became my hobby to watch it sometimes. At first, I thought that he characters in SP speak too fast and their pronunciation is too bad. But after taking the classes from Teacher Wallace, I got to love the characters in SP and understanding their pronunciation became one of my accomplishment of the day. you will be taught with SP videos and you will be falling in love with them soon. There are speaking h/w 10 times a 3 months. you should do every h/w at any cost. listening to the recording of your voice feels really awkward for me at first but it helps me a lot. I will do it continuously and I know it is the fastest way to be fluent in English.
Okay, This is end of the story. Comparing my past to my present after studying in Cliff English, I am still feeling terrible when I have to speak in English and deliver my opinion in English both in written form or with my mouth. But now I found that I am assured to become better in English day by day and I am confident to speak out loud in English.
